Dalet

Dalet classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15 - 6:15 PM and on Shabbat (Saturday) from 9:30 AM to 12:00 Noon.

By the time students reach the Dalet classes they should be familiar with most holiday and Shabbat observances. These areas are reviewed throughout the school year. The study of Torah is now begun in earnest. Emphasis is placed on Torah text and Midrash.

Siddur skills and Hebrew will continue with "The New Siddur Program for Hebrew and Heritage-Book 2". Students will begin a two-year course in Jewish history beginning with the Biblical period. A course in basic Judaism will begin this year and will weave together history, belief, ritual, halachah and tradition to convey the rightly textured fabric of Jewish life.

Classes on Shabbat include Junior Congregation for the upper grades, which will meet from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend Junior Congregation with their children.
